Our Clinicians

The people you would actually be working with

Their real credentials, what each one actually works with, and who has room right now.

If you already know who you want to see, ask for them when you call. If you do not, the free consultation is the way to find out, and you will speak to a clinician rather than to an intake screener.

David Corse, LPC, CADC III, CGAC II

LPC, CADC III, CGAC II

Founder, practice manager, clinical supervisor

David founded The Psychotherapy Associates of Oregon and runs it. He is the clinical supervisor for its Professional Counselor Associate, and provides internal supervision to its Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, whose licensure supervision sits with an outside supervisor. He brings twenty years in behavioral health, fifteen of them as a credentialed counselor, in roles including crisis counselor, treatment program counselor, program director, clinical supervisor, operations director, trainer, consultant, and adjunct professor at graduate and undergraduate level.

His three credentials are worth reading separately, because between them they cover the work this practice does not refer out.

  • CGAC II is a Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor at the second level. Very few clinicians in Oregon hold it. It is why the gambling work here is a specialism rather than something taken on.
  • CADC III is the top tier of Oregon’s alcohol and drug counselor certification.
  • LPC is his Licensed Professional Counselor license, and it is the one that covers everything else: EMDR for trauma and moral injury, Gottman-informed couples work, and the emotional and relational side of brain injury, stroke and other health crises.
Clinical areas
  • gambling and other process addictions
  • substance use
  • trauma and EMDR
  • couples
  • brain injury, stroke and cognitive change
His role here

clinical supervision for the practice’s clinicians, consultation with them on complex cases, and running the practice

Working toward licensure

Cynthia and Abby are pre-licensed clinicians working under David’s supervision, which is how every therapist in Oregon builds toward full licensure. Two practical things follow from it.
