Clinical Supervision and Consultation
Supervision that is actually supervision
Oregon requires registered associates to accumulate supervised hours before licensure.
Plenty of associates get an hour a week that runs on caseload logistics, gets cancelled when the supervisor is busy, and produces a signature at the end. The hours count. The development does not happen.
This is the other kind.
Who this is for
- Professional Counselor Associates accumulating hours toward LPC licensure in Oregon.
- CADC candidates working toward alcohol and drug counselor certification.
- CGAC candidates working toward Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor. This is the rare one. Very few clinicians in Oregon hold the credential at all, which makes supervisors on that track scarcer still, and it is the reason most people find this page.
- Licensed clinicians who want case consultation rather than supervision. No hours, no forms, no board relationship. One case, one hour, or something ongoing.
Rates
| Per hour | |
|---|---|
| Individual supervision, associates accumulating hours | $100 |
| Case consultation, licensed clinicians | $125 |
| Group | $50 |
No group is currently running. If enough people want one, that changes.
Published rather than quoted on request, because you are a professional deciding whether to spend your own money and you should not have to ask.
Credentials
David Corse, LPC, CADC III, CGAC II.
Supervisor Candidate on the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists registry, and supervising associates since before that registry had two tiers. Verifiable through the Board’s license search.
Twenty years in behavioral health, fifteen of them credentialed.
Depth in problem gambling and process addictions, which most supervisors have no experience in at all. Also substance use, trauma and EMDR, and Gottman-trained couples work.

What supervision here looks like
Rescheduled rather than cancelled. An associate working against a licensure clock cannot afford a supervisor who treats the hour as flexible.
Bring recordings, bring notes, bring the session that went badly. Those are the useful ones and there is no version of this where you are marked down for bringing them.
Hours logged the way the Board wants them and forms signed when they are due, rather than a scramble at the end of two years reconstructing a log.
When to refer out, when you are past your competence, and how to say so to a client without it landing as abandonment. That is the part newer clinicians get least help with and the part that generates board complaints.
Mandatory reporting, confidentiality limits, dual relationships, telehealth across state lines, and what to do in the hour you realize you may have made a mistake.
You will be asked what you are working on and it will be tracked. Supervision that never names a growth area is case management with a signature on it.
Case consultation for licensed clinicians
Separate from supervision, and no board relationship involved.
- One case you are stuck on. A population you have not worked with before. A client who has disclosed a gambling problem when you have never treated one, which is the single most common reason a licensed clinician calls here.
- One hour, or ongoing. $125.
Format
In person at the Tigard office, or by video anywhere in Oregon. Both count toward Board requirements under current rules.
If you are looking for a position rather than a supervisor
The Psychotherapy Associates of Oregon is hiring, and supervision is free to clinicians who work here.
That is worth saying plainly, because paying $100 an hour for your own supervision while accumulating hours is one of the real costs of getting licensed in this state, and it is a cost the associates here do not carry.
Questions people ask
Are you on the Board’s supervisor registry?
Yes, as a Supervisor Candidate. Oregon runs a two-tier registry, Supervisor Candidate and Approved Supervisor, and both are publicly searchable through the Board.
Can you supervise toward CADC or CGAC?
Yes to both. The gambling track is the one almost nobody else in Oregon covers.
Do video hours count?
Yes, under current Board rules. Confirm the specifics against the rule in force when your hours are logged, which is your responsibility, and which we will help you track.
Can you supervise me if I work somewhere else?
Yes. Outside supervision is common and there is no requirement that your supervisor be your employer, though your agency may have its own policy.
I am licensed. Can I just bring one case?
Yes. That is consultation rather than supervision, and it is a single hour if that is all you need.
Is there a group?
Not currently. The rate is $50 an hour if one runs.
