Therapy for Professionals

A career that cannot know

You already understand the problem better than a website can explain it.

A diagnosis on a record can follow you into a credentialing review, a license renewal, a partnership decision, a disclosure form you will sign in four years and have forgotten this by then. So the calculation is not whether you need to talk to somebody. It is what it costs you to have done it.

Here is the part most sites will not put in writing.

Insurance requires a diagnosis. To bill your plan we must give it a diagnostic code, and that code becomes part of your claims history.

Private pay does not. If you pay directly, no claim is filed, no code is assigned, and no third party receives a record of your care.

That is the whole reason this page exists. Most of the people we see in this situation choose to pay privately, and they are choosing it for that reason rather than because they enjoy paying.

Open seven days a week.

What it costs

$205 for a 55-minute session with a licensed clinician. $180 with a supervised associate.

No package, no minimum term, no charge for the first conversation.

What people bring here

Not a different list from anyone else’s. A different set of constraints around it.

  • Burnout, which at this level usually arrives as competence with nothing behind it. Still delivering. Nothing left.
  • Anxiety that only shows up in private. You are fine in the room, in the meeting, in the deposition, in the operating room. Then you are not.
  • Imposter syndrome, which does not respond to evidence and gets worse the more senior you are, because there is more to lose and fewer people to say it to.
  • Perfectionism as an operating system rather than a preference. It got you here and it is now charging rent.
  • Decisions with weight, and no one to think out loud with who is not a colleague, a client, a report or a spouse.
  • Substance use that is functional. Still working, still competent, and the amount has quietly moved.
  • Gambling. Worth naming directly, because it is the one with the most direct license exposure and the one people delay longest.
  • A marriage that is being run on the remaining time, which is not much.

What we will not do

We will not tell you to work less as though that were a plan.

We will not ask you to explain what your job is like, or be visibly impressed by it, or handle you carefully.

We will not moralize about the hours. You have already had that conversation with somebody who loves you and it did not help.

The first hour goes into understanding what you are actually managing. That is the standard here for everyone and it happens to matter more when the person across from you is used to being the one with the answers.

Practical

Evenings and weekends exist

We are open seven days a week. A recurring Tuesday at 10am is a pattern somebody eventually notices, and that is a real reason people do not start.

Records

We hold clinical records as required by law and release nothing without your written authorization, except where the law compels it. If you want to know exactly what those exceptions are before you say anything, ask on the consultation and you will get a straight answer.

No diagnosis is filed for a client who pays directly.

Who you would see

Our licensed clinicians take this work. They are independently credentialed with every payer the practice bills, which for a client paying privately is beside the point and for a client who changes their mind about that is not.

Questions people ask

Will anything reach my employer, my board or my insurer?

Not from us, and not without your written authorization, other than the narrow exceptions the law requires of every clinician in this state. If you pay privately there is no claim and therefore no record with a payer at all.

Am I burned out or depressed?

They overlap and they need different responses. Burnout usually lifts with real distance from the cause. Depression usually does not.

Can I be seen outside business hours?

Yes. Seven days a week, in person in Tigard or by video anywhere in Oregon.

Do you work with clinicians?

Yes, and we also provide clinical supervision, which is a different thing.

How long does this take?

You will get an honest estimate after the consultation. Not a package.
